RaceApp has several ways for you to input the athletes in the results for an event. There is no ‘best’ way. It’s a matter of personal preference and dependent on the type of race and what equipment and helpers you have available to you at the time of the meet.

Quick Entry: Enter Athletes by Lane or Place

Quick Entry lets you rapidly assign athletes to lanes before a race (Start Line) or to finish positions after a race (Finish Line).

Finish Line (Enter by Place)

Use this after a race to record athletes in the order they finished.

  1. Navigate to the race results page
  2. Tap Finish Line (checkmark icon) in the floating menu
  3. Enter the bib number or scan the QR code of each finisher in order
  4. Tap Save & Next Place to move to the next position
  5. Tap Done when finished

Start Line (Enter by Lane)

Use this before a race to assign athletes to their lanes BEFORE a race IF you are using the lane based finish line assignment in the FAT app (in beta now - contact us for more details).

  1. Navigate to the race results page
  2. Tap Start Line (flag icon) in the floating menu
  3. Enter the athlete’s bib number or scan their QR code
  4. Tap Save & Next Lane to move to the next lane
  5. Use Back to fix a previous lane, or Next to skip an empty lane
  6. Tap Done when finished Tips: - Toggle between Bib # and Scan input modes using the buttons at the top - The progress bar shows how many positions are filled - If you scan a duplicate athlete, you’ll see a warning and the entry won’t save - Quick Entry works great with Tyvek wristbands that have bib numbers written on them

Bulk Actions

Select one or more results using the checkboxes, then use the Bulk Actions menu:

Results - Toggle Exclude from Scoring — Include or exclude selected athletes from team scoring - Clear Athletes (times stay) — Remove athlete names and teams but keep the recorded times - Delete Selected Results — Permanently remove the selected results, times, and imported data

Imported Data - Remove Selected Imports (results stay) — Remove imported timer entries while keeping the result rows and athlete assignments

Move - Move To [Race Name] — Move selected results to a different race within the same event

To clear ALL imported timer data for an entire race, use Race Tools > Clear All Imported Data.
