Once you have added athletes to your team and printed race bibs, the next thing you’ll want to do is set up a meet.
Your meet inherits default scoring settings from your team, but you can customize them. Click “Edit Meet Details” to adjust.
Points are configured using bracket notation like [5,3,1]. Here’s how it works:
| Notation | 1st Place | 2nd Place | 3rd Place | 4th Place | 5th+ |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
[5,3,1] |
5 pts | 3 pts | 1 pt | 0 pts | 0 pts |
[10,8,6,4,2,1] |
10 pts | 8 pts | 6 pts | 4 pts | 2 pts, then 1 pt |
[6,4,3,2,1] |
6 pts | 4 pts | 3 pts | 2 pts | 1 pt |
[5] |
5 pts | 0 pts | 0 pts | 0 pts | 0 pts |
The pattern: Each number in the brackets is the points for that place. First number = 1st place, second number = 2nd place, etc. Any places beyond what’s listed score 0.
Dual meet (two teams):
- Track races: [5,3,1] or [6,4,3,2,1]
- Relays: [5] (only first place scores)
- Field events: [5,3,1]
Invitational (many teams):
- Track races: [10,8,6,4,2,1]
- Relays: [10,8,6,4,2]
- Field events: [10,8,6,4,2,1]
Cross Country meets use different rules: - Place equals points (1st = 1 pt, 2nd = 2 pts, etc.) - Lowest team score wins - Only top 5 (or 7) runners per team count - These are configured automatically when you select “Cross Country Meet”
You can set different point structures for: - Track And Field Race Points: Running events - Relay Points: Relay events (often only 1st place scores) - Field Event Points: Jumps and throws
This lets you handle situations like relays only scoring first place while individual events score multiple places.
