The Simple Version

We will never sell, rent, or share your data with anyone. Your information is yours, and we're just holding it so you can run great meets.

What We Collect

  • Account Info: Email, name, and school/team details you provide when signing up
  • Athlete Data: Names, grades, and performance data for athletes you manage
  • Payment Info: Processed securely by Stripe/PayPal (we never see your card numbers)
  • Usage Data: Basic analytics to help us improve the service

How We Use It

  • To run your meets and provide timing services
  • To send important service updates (not marketing spam)
  • To process payments for subscriptions
  • To help you export results to Athletic.net or other platforms you choose

Who Can See Your Data

  • Public Results: Meet results you publish are visible to anyone with the link
  • Your Team: Coaches and admins you authorize can access team data
  • No One Else: We don't sell or share data with third parties

FAT Timer iOS App

Our FAT Timer companion app for iPad has additional privacy considerations:

  • Camera & Microphone: Used to record finish line video and detect starter gun sounds. Recordings are stored locally on your device only.
  • Video Storage: All video recordings stay on your iPad. We never upload or access your video files.
  • Timing Data: When you export results to RaceApp.net, only the timing data (finish times) is sent - never the video.
  • Account Sync: Your RaceApp.net login is used to connect your teams and meets for easy export.

Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including SSL encryption and secure servers. While no system is 100% secure, we take protecting your data seriously.

Your Rights

  • Access: Download your data anytime from your account
  • Delete: Request account deletion directly from your account settings or email [email protected]
  • Correct: Update your information anytime in your account
  • Export: Take your data with you if you leave

Account Deletion

You have the right to delete your RaceApp account at any time. Here's what happens when you delete your account:

  • How to Delete: Go to your account settings and select "Delete Account", or email [email protected]
  • What Gets Deleted: All teams you own, meets, events, race results, and athlete records associated with your account
  • Personal Data: Your email, name, and other personal information is permanently anonymized
  • Subscriptions: Any active subscriptions are automatically cancelled with no refund for the current billing period
  • Confirmation: You will receive a confirmation email at your registered email address
  • Irreversible: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Data cannot be recovered after deletion.
  • Re-registration: You may create a new account with the same email address, but your previous data will not be restored

We retain a hashed (non-reversible) version of your email address solely to detect re-registration attempts and inform returning users that their previous data cannot be recovered.

Children's Privacy

We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Athlete data is managed by coaches and schools who are responsible for obtaining appropriate permissions.

If we update this policy, we'll notify you by email and post the changes here.
